Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Kano, on Thursday, 8th June, 2023, received the students of Hasiyanda International Schools, who came on a sightseeing tour to the University located at No. 05, Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Road, Hotoro GRA, Kano state.
The visit was part of the students educational excursion aimed at making them gain first-hand exposure to different courses, learning environment and amazing structural landscapes of the University in order to stimulate their interest for higher education.
The students, who were accompanied by some principal officers of their school, were on arrival conducted round some important places in the University, including the Professor Adamu Abubakar Rasheed Twin Theatre, Ibrahim Usman Yakasai Sports Complex, University Library, Clinic and Students Affairs Directorate.
Other places visited were Schools of Social and Management Sciences, Computing, Health Sciences, Nursing Sciences, University Senate Chambers as well as the University Cafeteria where the students had a sumptuous lunch.
Among the management staff of MAAUN that received the visiting students were the President of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, Vice President Administrations, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar, Vice President Campus Life, Dr. Hamza Garba, Head, Guidance and Counseling, Hajiya Hauwa Danguda and staff of Corporate Communication and Protocol Unit.
Speaking during the visit, the Principal of Hasiyanda International Schools, Mr. Segun Sanyaolu, expressed satisfaction with the state of the art facilities in MAAUN, saying the institution has the capacity to compete favorably with the highest ranking Universities across the globe.
While describing MAAUN as an educational dynasty, Segun disclosed that there are no fewer than ten students of Hasiyanda International Schools currently pursuing various degree programs in the University.
He expressed delight over the warm reception accorded them and requested the Guidance and Counseling Unit of the University to organize a program on Career Talks for their students.
Highlights of the visit include a question and answers session, where the visiting students were given the opportunity to ask questions about the University.
