Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board to establish ICT Training Centre at Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board is set to establish the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Training Centre at the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano.

The Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Engr. Simoi Kesiye Wabote made the disclosure when he led a team of staff to MAAUN on Monday, 15th November, 2022.

The Board had earlier sent a letter to the University notifying it on the proposed project.

Mr. Simeon Esiekpe, Supervisor, Corporate Communications and Zonal Coordination, NCDMB, who represented the Executive Secretary announced the plan during the visit.

He said the project is in line with the Board\\\’s initiative for capacity building with support skills development in information and Communication Technology (ICT), through the provision of basic infrastructure in schools.

He said the Board will provide 35 computer sets for the students, one computer set for faculty with solar power, internet and battery.

\\\”We wish to inform you that Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano is one of the schools selected for this laudable project\\\”, Mr. Esiekpe said.

In his remarks, the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr thanked the Board for selecting the University as one of institutions to benefit from the project.

According to him, the project would go a long way in supporting students to learn several other skills online.

In his vote of thanks, the Vice President Administration, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar commended the Board for the singular gesture.

He noted that the use of ICT in education not only improves the teaching/learning process, but also provides the facility of e-learning and distance learning to students.

Also in his remarks, the Director, Founder\\\’s Office, Dr. Aliyu Mirnga also lauded the Board for choosing MAAUN as one of the beneficiaries of the important project as it will facilitate teaching and learning.
