AgriFood Consultancy Global to support MAAUN\’s Agriculture Faculty

A Turkey-based organization, Agrifood Consultancy Global, has affirmed its commitment to the provision of robust support services for Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) Agriculture Faculty so as to boost food production in the country.

The African Affair Adviser of the organization, Dr. Mohamedloay Mohamed Yasin Baizid made the remarks when he visited the University located at Hotoro GRA, Kano, on Wednesday, 20th June, 2023.

He said the firm will also collaborate with the University in GreenHouse/Screen House Technology as well as new innovation in the industry in order to enhance its agricultural activities.

He said the firm would also support the University in view of the fact the University has all the needed facilities required of any international university of higher standard.

Dr. Yasin Baizid said that with MAAUN in Nigeria, students need not go to universities in Western countries like Cyprus to study.

The African Affair Adviser appreciated the proprietor of the University for putting in place state of the art facilities in the institution.

He said the firm would assist the University in the areas of training programs for its faculties to promote research, teaching, and learning in the University.

Dr. Yasin Baizid who spoke at length on the operation of the firm, said AgriFood Consultancy Global has a number of programs including plant production and land management, animal production and fishery as well as food production and food industry.

In his remarks, the Founder of the University, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo described the visit by the African Affairs Adviser of the Union as a milestone to the University.

Prof. Gwarzo, who described MAAUN as an international University, called on other universities in Nigeria to join international organizations in order to gain global recognition for the promotion of internationalization.

He also urged Universities to focus on research and innovation, pointing out that he would soon establish a University of Research, which will admit only postgraduate students to study at the PhD. level.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Director, Linkages and Collaboration, Dr. Bala Mohammed Tukur said the visit was aimed at reinvigorating the partnership between the University and the firm.

In his vote of thanks, the President of MAAUN, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr thanked the African Affairs Adviser for the visit, which he said would go a long way in strengthening the partnership between the two organizations.

The African Affair Adviser had earlier addressed some students at the Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Twin-Theatre.
